Shawnee's classes are as follows:

3-D Flowerpot Cake 
Learn the tricks and tips of 3-D cake sculpture and fondant modeling in this two day workshop.  Topics covered: cake shaping, cake and board covering techniques, simple flower construction, color wheel application, basic insect and facial modeling,  plus the dos and donts of 3-D cake engineering.  This is a hands on class.

Figure Modeling: Dog with Toys 
This class is designed for those who've always wanted to know about figure modeling but didn't know where to start.  Taking her cues from claymation and stop motion cinema, Shawnee will show the basics of non-humanoid modeling and how to create a simple yet effective dog scene for the top of any cake.  Topics will include gauging figure proportions, the modeling premise of "the ball", and a variety of tips to create dynamic, fun furry friends.  This is a hands on class.

Who says bugs have to be icky and creepy?  Shawnee will show you a variety of techniques to make zany, whimsical bugs that can be used on an assortment of cakes from birthdays to anniversaries to bridal.  This class is definitely a hands on class so be prepared to make your own cutie crawlies to take home.  Topics will include tips and tricks for working with fondant, the modeling premise of "the ball", and the basics of bugs.

Simplifying Gumpaste Flowers
Want to make pretty gumpaste flowers, but don't want to pay for lots of expensive cutters?  Be ready to go old school as Shawnee teaches you how to make a range of simple, elegant flowers without any cutters, molds, or veiners.  Learn the tried and tested pull flower method as well as a variety of filler flower techniques that you can use without even owning a single petal cutter.  Flowers covered will include: 4 and 5 petal pull flowers, jasmine buds, mimosas, stamens, and roses. We will wire up into a posy if time permits.  This is a hands on class.

Miniature Foods in Fondant 
Learn how to make simple yet effective mini foods that can be used on cupcakes, petit fours, festive table cakes . . . the possibilities are endless.  Techniques will include fondant coloring (to mimic food colors), molding, sculpting, marbling, inlay, and layering as well as some sugar dusting and painting.  Foods covered will include breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, and some fruits/vegetables.  This is a hands on class and will require minute, dextrous hand work.
